HEALTH
If you (the applicant) are suffering from a known medical condition or allergy such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy or a heart condition which might suddenly incapacitate you, it could be dangerous to go to sea - if in doubt consult your doctor. If you are being treated with prescribed drugs for any of the above a doctor's note, stating in plain language the condition and drugs used, will be necessary (see also conditions of booking D below). Your doctor should advise you of alternative medication in case of seasickness. You must ensure that you are carrying the correct drugs and dosage for the voyage. You must ensure that if necessary your doctor has advised the correct brand of anti-sickness remedy to take.

Every effort is made to try and accommodate people with mental/physical handicap where it is safe, however please supply detailed information to ensure that potential crew are not disappointed.

INSURANCE
NSY are fully covered for public liability and accidents on their vessels.
Holiday Insurance - NSY has arranged an excellent package through its brokers, WRS Ltd, whereby all applicants booked on a NSY voyage are automatically covered by the policy Cover includes: loss of personal luggage and money, medical, repatriation and other expenses incurred while abroad due to illness or accident, cancellation in certain circumstances before the projected voyage or curtailment in certain circumstances during the voyage: personal accident and public liability.
Excursions - short local trips (we can arrange if required).

POLICY CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
"Carriage hereunder is subject to the rules and limitations relating to liability established by the Athens convention, as enacted in the carriage of passengers, and their luggage, Sea, Domestic 'Carriage (Order 1987)". As with all policies there are conditions and exclusions and while these are considered to be standard we do recommend that applicants read them - a specimen insurance certificate is available on request. Excluded from successful claims - £20 each person.

CLAIMS
All claims are to be made direct to Francis Charsley Ltd, Dept K 100/102 Alexandra Road, Southend on Sea, SS1 1HQ. Tel: 01702 422370.

SAFETY
The vessel will be under the command of a skipper holding the relevant RYA/DTP commercially endorsed certificate. The vessel is certified to the Marine Safety Agency's Code Practice for Small Commercial Sailing Vessels.

APPLICATIONS FROM OVERSEAS
If you live overseas and wish to sail with NSY you are recommended to pay your fees using a GIRO BANK cheque from your local Post Office. If you pay using the Eurocheque method, transfer through your banker by international money order, please add £10 to the fee to cover transaction charges. Cheques other than Eurocheques drawn on banks outside Great Britain cannot be accepted. Please ensure that the amount includes any charges made by the bank for handling the transaction. NSY bankers are Barclays Bank, Barclay Business Centre, PO Box 480, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, C015 lRZ. Sort code is 20-2l-73. Please mark your bank transfer to North Sea Yachting Account No. 90894885.

CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
A. Failure to disclose all information may forfeit your berth, even at short notice.
B. Applicants should be able to swim at least 50 metres in light clothing.
C. applicants must be free of any known contact with an infectious disease during the six weeks prior to booked voyage.
D. Applicants under treatment requiring prescribed drugs MUST present NSY with a doctor's note stating, in plain language, the condition and drug prescribed.
E. NSY can accept no responsibility for any consequences of your failing to take medication as recommended by your doctor.
F. Applicants are under the authority of the skipper at all times during the voyage and are to carry out the duties assigned to them, and comply with his/her instructions.
G. In the event of cancellation of the voyage by NSY we wlll refund the voyage fee paid or accept it towards the cost of another cruise at the request of the applicant. NSY shall not be liable to repay any other sum.
H. Applicants are responsible for their own transport to and from the NSY Centre and, where overseas crew changes are made, to the airport or ferry terminal used unless special arrangements are made.
I. Conduct by the Applicant considered by the skipper to be disruptive, contrary to good order or prejudicial to the interests of safety of the crew shall entitle the skipper to return the Applicant to the point of departure in such a manner as she/he shall decide (without liability on NSY to make or meet any refund or additional cost) in all respects at the expense of the Applicant and/or parent/guardian (including the cost of any person escorting the Applicant if so desired).
J. NSY reserves the right to modify or cancel the voyage in the event of adverse sea conditions, mechanical problems or other circumstances beyond their control.
K. Whilst reserving the right to release information at the discretion of NSY, a policy of confidentiality is maintained.
L. It is the responsibility of Duke of Edinburgh Award Participants using their voyage for a residential project (Gold Award) to bring their log book to the vessel and ensure the skipper fills it in.
M. If the cruise is cancelled within 2 months of the start date FULL CRUISE COST is payable. Cancellation prior to this will result in the loss of your 25% deposlt.

North Sea Yachting reserves the right to refuse to accept any applicant without ascribing a reason for its decision.
