THE NEED FOR RADIO DISCIPLINE
There are hundreds of thousands of
Marine Band Radios world wide, all sharing a limited number of frequencies.
The International radio regulations allocate specific channels for particular
types of use such as:
Distress, safety and calling
Intership
Port operations
Ship movement
It is essential that the correct channel is used for the correct purpose
and that the correct procedure is followed for each type of message,
otherwise confusion results and communications become impossible.
